[DS] Centipong – New old game!
This week I decided to remake Centipong, this time for the DS.
It’s pretty much the same as it’s always been, except now it’s portable, stylus playable, and has the pickups unlike the Mobile edition.
It’s not all 100% yet, though.. More to come, and plenty of tweaking to be made.

In the meantime, you can Download Centipong DS here, and get kicking some Centipede Pod!

I must’ve been planning a DS edition, all those many months ago, when I did the PC one.. I actually surprised myself to find that I’d chosen a soundtrack that was entirely made of DS compatible .mod files!
Yeah, it’s a little weird having things sound so close to one another, but.. hey, if it works it works, right!!

Is there an update with new features for this in the works? One idea I have is, maybe add a help/info screen to explain what the power-ups/downs do?
This is off topic but, would you ever port “Retro Raider” to the DS? I haven’t played it, but I know it will be great because all of your games are!
Anyway, keep up the excellent work!

There’s a half bothered update.. Week 3 was abandoned due to lack of actual updates! It has a dark blue background, and.. that’s all I added! If I can think of some more, then you’ll see it turn up.
Meanwhile, I had actually started Retro Raider a while back, but after a couple of days coding I decided that starting afresh with JNKPlat would actually give me much more leeway. That’s why the new JNKPlat actually appeared a couple of months back.
Retro Raider might be fun graphically, but gameplay-variety wise JNKPlat’s much much better. So I went for that instead.
Maybe at some point I might want to reattempt Retro Raider.. But I’m not too sure!

I gotta say, it strikes me as somehow odd hearing the original PC audio alongside the charming retro graphics… Must be your previous DS releases. Not that I’m complaining.
