This content was originally created for AGameAWeek.com. If you can read this on any site other than your regular RSS reader, the site has stolen it, and is nothing more than a horribly big spambot trying to get extra google results.
How odd, especially with other games working fine.
Hmm.
Currently playing with this week's game, but I'll have a look at Tetripong in a couple of days for you.
If I find anything obvious that could be causing it, I'll let you know.

Off the top of my head, it's probably a 32-bit-color issue. For a while, I tried to make everything run in 32-bit, but some gfx cards *still* don't support that!! Better to run in 16 or 24, rather than 32, apparently.
Go figure.
All these PCs, with all their power, and the simple little things still flummox them!

Other games downloaded from this site work fine. Here's the debug.txt file contents, in case that's helpful to you:

You don't FLIP a tile in tetris!?!
WTF cheaty version of tetris are you playing!?!
Or is this the crapola new-age tetris, where they've taken a fantastic game, and added every possible cheat-method into the game, so that it becomes playable by a 2 year old?

Euww. Flip!?!

The whole point of half the shapes is that they're the wrong way around. If you could just flip them, that'd kill the frustration from getting the one you need but, "ARGH!! It's the wrong way around!"

Do yourself a favour, grab a gameboy emulator, good old black+white tetris, sit down for a few hours, and have some classic tetris fun.

I'm using Blitz3D, and that's Win only.
If I used BlitzMax, I could conceivably get Mac versions up and running, but A) I'd need a Mac, and B) there'd be a bunch of obstacles to overcome, mostly system-spec related.
Issue B would be simple enough to overcome if I had time, but AGameAWeek doesn't really give you those kinds of luxuries.
..
As for issue A..
Feel free to send me a mac ;)

But you're very limited.
On the one hand, the AI would just be completely worthless. Why have a worthless bat moving around, when the balls already bouncing about, anyway!?
On the other hand, a real player. .. Do you really want to sit playing "bounce the ball around" whilst the other guy's sitting playing tetris?

Personally, that doesn't sound exciting!

JNKPong would be Star Trek Pong, and Platdude + Balls would be Pang.
But yeah, Platdude in Tetris would work just as well. Again, though. I'm trying to do lots of different games, here.. or at least, not start repeating myself on week 3 (Even if it is year 2!!)
So.. Perhaps later.

It's in the bag, but the bag of repetitiveness is still well and truly sealed!

Maybe, make "astronaut" a toggled feature in next release? "I just made a tetris, otherwise Tetriller would be good", as you said - so why not make one Tetris game with Pong balls, Climbers and some other extras under this name?
Maybe... JnkPong? (platdude must survive on a level, being destroyed by balls - AI-driven or real opponent.
