Rushing through ideas with hours left to spare!

MadTinkerer’s Net is now ingame.
Simple method of adding it, there’s a small blob in the middle of the screen, lining up with the mouse’s X position.
The player holds Right mousebutton, and the small blob grows into a little basket/net.
The player collects 3 red pods and gains “Love” magnet mode.
3 orange makes the paddle grow
and so on and so forth.

I have 6 so far.
Feel free to go nuts and suggest more, because there’s a whole great big bunch of color combo’s I can mix up!

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, Purple are your 7 colors.
Go wild!

(FameGets : Everyone who posted yesterday already have their names in the left hand credit box!!! YEAY!!!)

Woo! Not the first time someone’s used my idea in their game, but it’s been a while! :)

Red + Orange + Yellow = Something like fire ball? :-D
Green + Green + Green = Nitro? :-) Player has no control over the paddle and paddle is sliding from left to right (and back) really quick (so nothing can go through unless it’s really quick too :-D )

I downloaded and played Centipong (1) for a while and I think that up and down movement would be great, so the player can bounce the ball like with the tennis racket :-) or in that flubber like volleyball.

Hmmm… Green+Cyan+Orange= Matrix-style slo-mo? Or maybe Cyan+Cyan+Cyan=Ice? Paddle slides around and centipede goes really slow.
Orange+Cyan+Red= Operate Centipede Rocket? Like having an invincible period when the paddle deflects everything and the ship from Centipede comes out and you can blow those Centipedes to smithereens!
Green+Cyan+Blue= Topsy-Turvy. The world (Graphics-wise, not gravity) spins and turns. Try not to get too dizzy!

P.S. Thanks for putting our names in the Credits box! I really can’t wait to see this game.

Annoyingly I actually tried “spin the graphics around” today, before coming to the conclusion that it’s not a very easy thing to do, without having previously accounted for it.
    Bummer..
So I’ll be rejigging the framework in the next few weeks, but we’ll have to do without it for this game I’m afraid.
    :(

I’m currently faffing around with the control scheme, to see how easy it is to slow down/speed up the paddle.
At the minute it’s a wee bit tricky, ‘cos it’s mouse control..
Which is a bit disorientating, especially when you can already see the net where the mouse “should” be, but you have the paddle flapping about all over the place.
    Very odd…
And getting much trickier to keep your eye on wtf’s going on in the game!!
