Platdude’s Retro Collection – DS

Platdude’s Retro Collection was first released in November 2007. Each new release will contain a handful of new games.
How many will there be in the end? Who can say!
The latest release, Download Here, contains 18 games from the list below.
Note : If you’d like to play, but don’t own a DS, you can use No$GBA to play the game.
CentipedeBlast away all the approaching Centipede bits. Every piece that escapes from play removes 25 of your hard earned points. |
SnakeGuide the Snake towards the numbered blocks. Pick up the number of points displayed on the Block. If it reaches 0, the block becomes a solid brick. Try not to crash. |
InvadersDestroy all the Alien Invaders before they reach the bottom of the screen. No bases to hide with and plenty of enemy gunfire makes this a super-rapid version of Invaders. A fan favourite. |
Light CyclesGuide your way away from the enemy lines in a rather basic remake of the classic Tron game. |
AsteroidsShoot all the floating Asteroids for whatever reason there ever was for doing it in any other version of the game! Asteroids is fun! |
RacerThis game sucks, and has since been hidden away like some kind of rubbish Easter Egg.. |
EscapeGrab the blue square and keep it away from the red ones. Pick up Green ones for extra points. |
Missile CommandDestroy the approaching missiles, before they destroy your bases! Every missile that hits the land takes away a point!.. The Green ones are worth extra. |
Dot PopWith 30 seconds on the clock, hit as many squares as you can. |
PacmanWith two full screens of pills to empty, and eight ghosts running around, you’d better get moving. (Strangely, it’s not as much fun as it oughta be..) |
FroggerNo river, just 2 huge busy roads to pass. The top lot move faster, so you’re gonna have to be quick to score any points. Get to the top and start again, but with more cars. |
PongJust you, a CPU, and a ball too. And another ball if you play on High.. .. And 3 on Extreme. |
TetrisMuch requested, and so eventually added. This game tries to be a Good Tetris game, and hopefully you’ll enjoy it. I might add Bombliss later, since I really love that game, too! |
Buzzard Bait!Flap about and kill the other jousters. Collect their eggs before the re-hatch! |
Lights OutTap the grid to invert a + of lights. Switch them all off to advance to the next level. |
5 in a LineShuffle the grid around to match up 5 tiles of the same color in a single line. Do it quick, because you only get a minute to clear as many as you can. |
Tune TapA tune is played, then you must repeat it. It’s like a really cheap version of Parappa! |
QBertHop around the blocks, color them all in, and avoid the flashing balls of death. |
Dodge SpikesMove left and right, avoid all the spikes, and collect as many coins as you can. |

This year, the Big Torrent is available from Monova.org! If you’d like to play 53 out of 54 from Year 2, you can go grab it now. I left out Rock My Chords, since it’s 49Mb on it’s own, and I reckon it’s got an audience of…. me! But otherwise, the rest are in there. [...]

I was supposed to be writing up a nice big writeup for this, but.. I’m in no rush! I’m resting! Video’s done. Writeup later! woot! 54!

This weekend I’m planning on doing a nice big happy writeup about Year 2. I’ll be hopping through and replaying all my year’s games, and jotting down little should/shouldn’t’s about each one. I might even take the time to record a few seconds of each and then build up a nice big Year-2 Video. That’d [...]

… FFS, I can’t count. FiftyFOUR weeks, FiftyFOUR games. Even with a miscount, I still managed to equal the weeks:games ratio. Lovely stuff! Here’s the stats, straight from GoogleDocs or in the form of a picture, if your browser doesn’t like iframes! and here’s a great big blue and red google graph, looking all lovely [...]

Fred is a happy Flea, and he loves to hop. He especially loves it when all the Dandelions are casting their seeds around in the air, as he can grab on, and go for a ride. Guide Fred, by moving the mouse cursor underneath him, and clicking to fling him up into the air. Keep [...]

As promised, here’s a quickly bundled together edition of Cardagain DS. I’m not sure if folk’ll play it, since nobody seems to play it, so I haven’t spent a lot of time on it. It’s the absolute basics that are needed. If anyone does find themselves playing it, let me know, and I’ll start putting [...]

Tuesday, Fred the Parachuting Flea. Needs a few “I didn’t get that!!!?” kinda tweaks, but it otherwise working nicely.. If I drop dead tomorrow, at least the game’s ready for release I’m also behind a game, though, but I’ve got that covered with yet another port of Cardagain.. If folk aren’t buying it, then I’m [...]

Step 1. Place an indie game into a copy of your magazine. Step 2. TELL THE DEVELOPER! Step 3. Profit In this case, Webuser failed to tell me that NeonPlat2 was in their July 15th 2010 issue. As such, I haven’t bought it. They 100% lost a sale, because had I known I was in [...]

Kept the random title.. It’ll do! Not sure if it works better as “Kee, Bo and Ard”, or just “Kee Bo Ard”, but either way, here we have it! Kee, Bo and Ard must all be guided through the maze. They have to collect all the pickups, and once they’re all done, you can progress [...]

Ah, back to the old routine! I had promised a new Sheriff Munky game, this week, but I think it’s got the lurgy! Every time I touch it, it brings horrible memories of the past couple of week’s deadness, and I can’t seem to get on with the game. So, this morning, I happily scrapped [...]
